For the past thirty some years, I've been hand-fabricating mixed-metal jewelry and showing at art festivals across the country...
For the last fifteen years, it's been my full-time pursuit. I conceive and construct each piece myself from start to finish...cutting, forming, and connecting. I use high karat gold, fine and sterling silver, and occasionally I incorporate precious and semi-precious stones into my designs. I attended the University of Minnesota for six years studying architecture, structural engineering, and photography before becoming a studio metalsmith. I'm a self-taught jewelry designer and my creative process usually begins when I start each day sitting down at my bench and begin working...I generally don't use sketches...I like to play around with the materials as they lie about to help me visualize what's possible. I think this method contributes to keeping my designs as varied as they are.
